API Engineer 1 - Credit (L08)

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills/Knowledge:

Minimum 1+ year of applied Java experience.

Critical Thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellence in technical communication with technical and non-technical peers.

Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence.

Desired Characteristics:

Experience in Front End UI development and Backend Java programming.

Familiarity building and consuming web services via SOAP and REST

Familiarity with common Java frameworks like Spring and Spring boot

Familiarity with Jira and Bitbucket and git.

Familiarity with continuous integration environments

Familiarity writing unit and integration tests

Familiarity with JSON, REST and XML based web services

Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical peers

Strong cross-functional team player with the ability to work seamlessly across a matrix organization

Desire to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence clients, team members, management and external groups

Strong attention to detail in a team environment

Strong oral and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to analyze, use structured problem-solving and available tools to troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, action plans, impact and resolution options

Knowledge on AI Tools for Developers (Like GitHub Co-pilot, Rovo etc), Development of AI Agents, Understanding of tools, skills and Instruction markdown files etc.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree OR, in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED with knowledge of application development using Java minimum 1 Year of Software Engineering Experience.

Work Timings : 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST

(This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
