GCP Application Engineer

Role Description

The GCP Application Engineer is a full-time role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region with a hybrid work model, combining on-site collaboration and some work-from-home flexibility. In this role, the engineer designs, develops, and maintains applications and services on Google Cloud Platform, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable solutions that support AI-driven automation workflows. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and testing cloud-native applications, integrating APIs and microservices, monitoring performance, and troubleshooting technical issues related to GCP infrastructure and application behavior. The engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including product, data, and customer success, to translate business requirements into technical solutions and provide technical support for deployed applications. The role also involves implementing best practices for cloud security, performance optimization, CI/CD pipelines, and documenting architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

Technical Support skills, including diagnosing cloud application issues, resolving incidents, and assisting internal and external stakeholders with GCP-related queries.

Software Development skills, with experience in designing, coding, and testing applications on GCP using languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js, and familiarity with APIs and microservices.

Testing skills, including unit, integration, and performance testing for cloud-based applications, as well as using automated testing and CI/CD tools.

Foundational understanding of Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering concepts is beneficial for integrating AI automation solutions with hardware or IoT systems.

Strong knowledge of GCP services (e.g., Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, BigQuery) and cloud architecture best practices.

Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (such as Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager) and containerization technologies (such as Docker and Kubernetes).

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Effective communication, documentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in hybrid teams and adapt to a fast-paced, innovation-focused environment.
