Python Developer

Role Description

This is a remote internship role for a Python Developer. The intern will engage in developing and maintaining backend systems, implementing software solutions, and utilizing object-oriented programming principles to meet project requirements. Additional responsibilities include database management and ensuring optimized system performance through effective programming practices.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering

Strong foundation in Back-End Web Development and Software Development

Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Programming best practices

Proficiency in working with Databases and understanding of database management

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to collaborate effectively in a virtual team environment

Familiarity with Python frameworks such as Django or Flask is a bonus

Pursuing or completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

What you'll do

Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python and Flask

Design and query relational databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL) — schema, joins, indexing, ORM

Integrate backend APIs with the frontend and debug issues across the stack

Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews

What we're looking for

1–1.5 years of professional Python backend development experience

Strong with Flask (routing, blueprints, request handling, error handling)

Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL and SQLAlchemy (or similar ORM)

Comfortable wiring APIs to a frontend — understands HTTP, JSON, CORS, auth tokens

Basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript; familiarity with React or similar is a plus

Git and basic debugging skills

Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently in a remote setup

Good to have

Docker, CI/CD exposure

Cloud experience (Azure / AWS)

Unit testing with pytest

Kubernetes exposure
