WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design and develop satellite-data applications for real-world environmental and geospatial problems.
- Work with Sentinel, Landsat, MODIS, VIIRS and other Earth-observation datasets.
- Develop workflows using optical, multispectral, thermal, SAR and other relevant satellite data.
- Combine satellite observations with GIS, weather, terrain and other geospatial datasets.
- Build scalable applications and analytical workflows using Python, AWS, Google Cloud and geospatial APIs.
- Translate customer and industry requirements into technically viable satellite applications.
- Support development of pilots and proof-of-concepts with customers and partners.
- Work with AI/ML engineers to integrate machine-learning models into Earth-observation workflows.
- Validate outputs against ground observations, reference datasets or other available sources.
- Prepare technical documentation, demonstrations, reports and customer-facing technical material.
- Stay current with emerging satellite missions, sensors, datasets and Earth-observation technologies.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, GIS, Earth Sciences, Computer Science or a related field.
- Practical experience working with Earth-observation or satellite data.
- Strong Python skills.
- Experience with geospatial libraries and tools such as GDAL, Rasterio, GeoPandas, QGIS or similar.
- Familiarity with satellite imagery, coordinate systems, raster/vector data, spatial analysis and remote sensing concepts.
- Experience working with AWS and/or Google Cloud.
- Ability to work with APIs, cloud infrastructure and data pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take an ambiguous problem and turn it into a working technical solution.
GOOD TO HAVE
- Experience with SAR, hyperspectral, thermal or ocean-observation data.
- Experience with Sentinel-1/2/3, Landsat, MODIS, VIIRS or commercial satellite datasets.
- Understanding of NDVI, NDWI, NBR, land-cover classification, change detection or similar remote-sensing techniques.
- Experience integrating meteorological datasets such as NOAA or IMD data.
- Familiarity with machine learning or computer vision.
- Experience deploying geospatial applications using AWS or Google Cloud.
- Experience working with government, research, climate, agriculture, forestry, maritime or space-sector customers.
WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE DIFFERENT
This isn't a role where you'll be handed a narrow task and asked to execute it for two years.
You'll be among the people building Arjuna Space AI's technical foundation.
You may work on a wildfire-monitoring application one week, maritime intelligence the next and an agricultural monitoring prototype after that.
You'll have the opportunity to work across:
Satellite Data → Geospatial Analytics → AI → Cloud Infrastructure → Product → Customer Deployment
We value people who are curious, technically rigorous and comfortable building things that don't have a playbook yet.
WHO WILL THRIVE HERE
You might be a great fit if you:
- Look at a satellite image and immediately start thinking about what information can be extracted from it.
- Enjoy moving between science, engineering and product.
- Prefer building prototypes over creating presentations about what could be built.
- Can work independently in an early-stage environment.
- Want your work to become a real deployed application, not just a research paper.
- Are excited about the intersection of space, AI, climate and Earth intelligence.
LOCATION
Pune, India
This is an early-stage, high-ownership role. The exact working model and compensation will be discussed based on experience and role fit.
INTERESTED?
Send us your CV or LinkedIn profile and 2–3 examples of satellite, geospatial, remote-sensing or AI projects you've built.
If you have a GitHub, portfolio, research project, satellite application or technical demo, we'd love to see it.
