Software Engineer

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Software Engineer at CXO Inc. The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and applications that power the CXO Ecosystem, including platforms for learning, awards, hiring, investment, and media. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing new features, optimizing system performance, integrating third-party APIs, and ensuring reliability and scalability of web services. The role involves collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions, writing clean and maintainable code, and participating in code reviews. The Software Engineer will also monitor production systems, address technical issues, contribute to architectural decisions, and follow secure development and documentation practices.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.

Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go).

Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and working with databases (SQL/NoSQL).

Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and ability to apply them to scalable, maintainable code.

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.

Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization or orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Knowledge of secure coding practices, performance optimization, and monitoring or logging tools is beneficial.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Effective communication skills, ability to work independently in a remote environment, and willingness to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
